Ok so I’m going to post a myriad of posts soon outlining some of our newest features, one feature at a time. Today’s new feature is actually a bunch of features wrapped up into one: the new Day View!Ok it works like this: you have a grid representing your day, and you draw a box to create an event. You choose a calendar and the box changes to the color of that calendar. Type in an event name, hit “enter” and you’re done! It’s the quickest way to create an event! If you’re so inclined, you may also modify the event’s duration and start time by resizing and dragging around the box. Fun!

There’s more to this new view than fancy event addition and modification! Yes sir! There’s also fancy task addition! If you’re like me, you enjoy keeping a running list of things you’re supposed to be doing. This is the best place in the world (yes, the world) to modify this task list. Just type in what you want to do (”milk the cows”), pick a calendar (”daily farm chores”) and hit enter. It saves your last calendar selection so when you want to create a new task (”put all chicken eggs in one basket”) then all you have to do is type it and hit “enter”. Simple and fun. We’re all about that.

But wait, there’s ever more! Just below the task list is a nice little sheet of paper tacked to your day view. This is for personal notes for that day. It works well as a general reminder: “Don’t forget to code awesome things into Jotlet today!”. At least, that’s what I use it for. You can use it however you please, such as flattery: “You sure are one good looking fellow right now!”

Underneath that piece of paper is a “print this day” button, that allows you to create a printout of that days’ activities, tasks and note. When you fold that printout into quadrants, it makes a nice little wallet-sized booklet! A Jotlet Booklet!
So we hope you enjoy these new Day View features. We sure sure! If you have any ideas on how to make Jotlet work better for you, then drop us a line!If you don’t have a Jotlet account yet, be sure and get one! It’s the most fun you’ll have organizing things since, well, probably ever.

I am proud to announce that my daughter Cailyn Leigh was born this past Tuesday morning! I have officially joined the ranks of fatherhood, and I couldn’t be happier!
Cailyn still has a few years training before she can help us out here at Jotlet HQ, but I’ll be starting her programmer training asap
I’ve taken the past week off to help out with Cailyn, but I’ll be getting back into the groove before too long. Until then, I’ll be hanging out with the coolest and newest little girl on the planet!
